Hey everyone,
A month ago, the CEL illuminated on my 940SE, so I took it into the local Volvo dealer to have it diagnosed.
The dealer found a fuel trim code and an O2 sensor code, tested the 02 sensor, and claimed that there was nothing wrong with the 02 sensor. Reset the car's CEL and charged me an hour of labor for the diagnosis.
Earlier today, while I was out for a drive in the country, the CEL illuminated upon startup. I drove the car 40 miles back to Seattle with absolutely no driveability problems, save for the orange glare of the CEL staring me in the face.
The symptoms are very similar to the last time the CEL illuminated. No driveability issues, but the light illuminated.
So this is what I'm wondering:
Despite the dealer's assertions, does it sound like I need to replace the 02 sensor? I was reading through the 700/900 FAQ, and it sounds like the fuel trim code is a product of a fault in the 02 sensor.
