rear tire wear 200

After vibration became shimmy became wobble, I clown-car'd in to get the rear tires looked at (Radial T/A's). Sure enough, both rear tires had developed a "flat spot" in the tread.
The car, 86 245DL, has been well maintained. (The PO was an airline pilot. Records (and his report) show the rear bushings replaced ~99 with the IPD kit. Also IPD sways, lowering springs, Boges. Handles like it's on rails...)
What would cause a wear pattern like this?
I went ahead and had the tires replaced, but I'm paranoid about bushings. I've already downloaded Neal Wilcer's TABtool webpage...
