Running boards on a PV? 444-544

Yesterday while shopping I came out to an old guy looking in my car window, and he had to share his story of owning one...blah blah blah. He insisted that running boards came with the car,that they mounted on the jack points, and my car was missing them. Has anyone ever seen running boards on a PV? Were they an aftermarket or dealer option? Or did this guy confuse it with a 40's Ford? Just wondering.
