Crazy idea! (station wagon rear seat for sedan) 140-160 1970

I've not been able to find a station wagon I like much. They tend to

lead a hard life.

Instead, I was thinking -- how hard would it be to take the rear

seat setup out of a salvage yard 145 and put that into the 164/140?

The 145 seat would need to be found at a salvage yard, the stock

seat removed and the sheet metal between the trunk and the passenger

compartment removed. I'd also need to figure out how to put the 145

fasteners in place.

I ask because I was trying to take a front bumper from a 164 home

in my 144 (the same 164 that had the GT gauge cluster) and I had to

put it in the passenger compartment with the front right seat folded

back. I was worried that I'd rip the seats up or get them dirty.

The station wagon rear seat would be a *huge* upgrade to these cars,

if it was possible.

Ideas/opinions?

thanks,

chris
