Door keys questions 444-544 1962

My 544 came with no door / trunk key. I know I could buy a set of new lock cylinders with keys, but I prefer to use what is there on the car, whenever it makes sense.
Can a locksmith work backwards from the existing locks on the car to create new keys? If so, is it expensive to do that?
Does anyone know if there is a common key blank available for the PV door locks? Is it available in the US or any sources?
