aux source for Factory Audio System 700 1990

I wondered if anyone had been successful with connecting to the stock radio through the equalizer port to add an axillary input ( CD or MP3 player) to one of the stock AM/FM/Cassette radio (Mine is a Model 6141)
I want to attempt this myself. I have seen a few efforts but I wasn't sure if any were successful..
