2 Questions - Coolant on Water Pump and New Battery Recs 200 1992

Hi All,

We'll be moving in about a month to North Dakota, so I want to make sure our 1992 240 is good to go.

1) I noticed a tiny bit (barely noticeable in that little "valley") of coolant on the top of the water pump where it connects. The pump is about 2 years old, but I don't want to risk a failure during the 1000 mile drive. I'm short on time, so would probably just have the local shop do it, but I'm wondering how much of a concern it is.

2) Any particular specs (considering the extreme cold to come) I should look for when I replace the battery which is over 6 years old. It still works fine, but I'm thinking it might be a good time to replace. Also, any stores you'd recommend? In my area it's limited to WalMart, Les Schwab, Carquest, Napa.

Thanks in advance,

Jeff
