Cleaned temp comp. board; tach now dies and signals stick when I turn lights on 200 1988

Today, I decided I'd try to make sure all was well with my temp comp board. I had noticed my temp gauge was not working. I took out the board, looked at it, and replaced it, as I realized I had no idea what to do with it. I put everything back exactly the way it is supposed to go. I know this much. Ever since, when I turn on my headlights, the tach dies and my turn signal indicators stay on. I have been through so much with this car and its taillights, fuses, etc. I finally had everything working almost perfectly (except) the reverse lights, which I believe my mechanic is going to have to handle as it's like the switch on/near the transmission, as I've read. But what on earth have I done to my car, and can I fix it without buying a new gauge cluster?
