Yesterday heading to a meeting on one of our Houston Toll Roads, had the good fortune to pass an big rig load of wooden pallets used on construction sites. Just as I pulled along side the truck hit a bump and here comes a cloud of dust and rocks. Inga now has four cracks in her windshield (screen for the Brits out there) two of them are still growing, one on the passenger side is really bad. Time for a replacement in the next couple of months before inspection. Should have gone back and got the trucks info, but was running late and kept rolling.

Right now Inga has the chrome lined one istalled, it was replaced 10 or so years back after one of my Dad's two deer hunting episodes. Have read here in the past that a later model does not have the chrome and fits quite nicely. Never liked the look of the chrome ring anyway so what are my choices from later years? Anything to check while the cracked unit is out? Do not have any known rust issues.
