Advice on buying a '95 940 Turbo Wagon 900 1995

Thinking about a 95 Turbo Wagon and wondered if anyone has any opinions or advice in considering this purchase. It's a one owner (Volvo family guy that previously had a 245 and now drives a Cross Country), has low miles (97K) and has been serviced at the dealer every 5k with complete records. I've looked at the FAQ on the 940 and Turbo. What's a good price on that car in the south? Any input/advice from you folks would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Calvin

I would go after it. Our 945 Turbo has been great. Now with 115K, it has had the normal 945 issues in the very beginning. Now that it is 11+ years, the bugs are out of it and we just do the routing service. Price in my area would range between $2,800 and $3,500 dependng on condition. If in great shape, maybe more. I would pay a premium just because I like the RWD and there ain't many around anymore.

Advice on buying a '95 940 Turbo Wagon 900 1995

I recently purchased a '93 945T 88k miles - one owner, full records (in a three ring binder), original Florida vehicle for 5k from a dealer (where it had been traded). I paid what I believed to be a fair, full price for a truly well maintained vehicle. I would expect to pay less (10%?) to an individual.
Happy Motoring.

Heck, save it for me!

I'll be right down to scarf it up for whatever giveaway price they're asking... then I'll just drive it back home to Seattle, where such a car would sell for $8500 easily.

I spent 3 months scouring the want ads, car magazines and online local sellers for a Volvo and ain't NOBODY giving them away up here.

Ain't that the truth about expensive west coast cars. Maybe I was having this discussion with you before ... can't recall now. I'm up in Vancouver BC.

Cars do seem to last longer here (as opposed to East coast) but not sure if it's any better than the south. Cars in general are expensive, Volvos of course are worse.

I see this place has a '94 945 for $12,850CDN. Wooooooo! That's about $10,300USD. The Volvo Lady - Volvo, Vespa & Volkswagen VW Westfalia Restorations in Abbotsford, BC

I see some real POS Volvos for sale. Most recent example: 1985 740GLE; faded and chiped paint, rusted, crapola tires, 380,000KM, cracked interior parts, cracked signal lens. I was expecting about $500 ... only $2000 for you!

Advice on buying a '95 940 Turbo Wagon 900 1995

Last August I got for a friend a "95 940 Turbo Wagon at Manheim auctions in Fort Lauderdale FL for $2450. Car had 150k perfect body, ice cold a/c and leather. He only had to change brakepads, and now he is going for the tires.
Considering that you are dealing with a private and car has low mileage, I would guess that anywhere in between $3000 and $4000 you are getting yourself a deal.

I just purchased a '94 960 wagon w/ 126k, one owner and complete dealership service records since new....$2850. We live in Fort Lauderdale, where seemingly the older RWD Volvo's are not longer "en vogue". Which is perfect for me, since that's exactly what I was looking for.

Regardless, with regular scheduled maintenance, you'll be very happy with your purchase.

Check kbb.com If the car is in great shape, ask the owner what he wants then pay him the money. One owner with records is worth a lot!
