elongated generator bracket hole 120-130

I'm all set to swap my alternator and generator, and thinking about dealing with the now oval-like forward hole where generator connects to bracket. This elongation is both on the bracket, and on the aluminum mounting ear (?) of generator.

The bolt which goes in there is probably going to move around in there again, and possibly make hole even bigger. I don't have proper tool to drill metal and stick a bushing in there, so I'm trying to get creative.

2 ideas so far. I have a tiny woodruff key that I can stick in the extra space and fill up the gap. OR, I was thinking of tightly packing in aluminum foil into extra space, so bolt has less of a chance of vibrating around in there, and increasing hole diameter.

I also have split lockwasher and locknut (with some plasticlike material inside) ready to use. Anybody ever deal with this issue?

Went with the JB Weld, it should be fully cured later this evening. Filled up maybe 95% of the extra, unwanted space. Might stick a chunk of rubber to fill up remaining extra space, or just let it be.

As long as you're thinking out of the box...
how about filling with JB Weld and redrilling? the stuff is pretty good. Made for repairing engine blocks, among other things. If your fasteners aren't Nyloc(plastic insert, "elastic stop nut") perhaps they should be.
    Best of luck!
[EDIT: Sorry, didn't realize you can't drill it out. Fill the hole around the shank of a bolt, then remove the bolt.]

You read my mind (or I read yours), thought of using the stuff right after I posted message. Have the 2 tubes right in front of me.

No power tools available for drilling however. Wonder if I can get away with sticking the bolt in there, and THEN fill up the extra space with the weld mixture. I'm afraid if I do it that way, I'll never get that bolt out again once the stuff hardens.

We seem to be on the same page here (see my edit to the original reply)!
Maybe a clean, plated bolt with just a smidge of oil on it would work as a form?

I remember battling with the gen mounting hardware on my 122s...that sucker IS heavy, isn't it? But reasonably effective.

Let us know how this works out!
