Are you sure I have an OBD? Yes. It's a small black plastic box mounted back behind the left strut tower. It has a push-button, a probe wire, several sockets, and an LED indicator.

And if I do do I have to have one of those things that hooks to a laptop? No, it's all done from the LED box under the hood.

The faq says this:
"For every model year up to and including the '95s (except 200 series DLs and GLs), you can flash out fault codes, as well as perform input and output testing, through the OBD-I diagnostic connector unit"
I'm afraid the FAQ is wrong in excluding 200 series. They have had it since '89.

There are codes for both FI and Ignition systems, only a few of which set the CE light. IMO, this might give you a place to start.

I don't think the Haynes manual has any OBD information.
The Bentley manual does, but has some minor omissions (like which Ignition codes will set the CE light).

The FAQ does have the basic info you need. For now, look primarily at how to use Diagnostic sockets 2 and 6 (Fuel and Ignition).

Look in the Haynes manual if you don't have anything better. They should have it in stock at mostly any auto store or large bookstore for around $15.00. You will then find out how to use the OBD on your car.
