shift lock problems 200 1992

A recent shift lock problem has risen.

Only in the morning when I crank up my 1992 183000 automatic -- the shift lock will not let me shift out of park. I step on the brak and do not hear the usual click noise....after 3-4 minutes of me depressing the brake pedal it eventually clicks on and releases the shifter.

I have checked the fuses - they all look good and the overdirve works good. Is it the solenoid? or a bad connection in the shifter? I hav enot been able to find the place where you can unlock the shifter?

Any advice/ ideas? Will this eventually just stop working all together?
