Any correlation between Kickdown and OD? 200

Does the kickdown cable affect the OD on an AW70? All other gears work fine, but OD has only worked maybe 3 or 4 times out of the 20 I've driven it. Weird.

check your wiring for the OD, runs under the shift console and down to the OD solinoid on the driver side if i recall correctly, I had to re-wire it once, isn't too bad if you drop the tranny down about 3-4inches. splice in a new piece, or solder if you prefer, but there isn't much room.

this should only be done if you notice fraying of the wires or wires have come undone. Otherwise, check yer kickdown cable, but I have rarely heard of a kickdown cable doing anything but leaking at the seal on the tranny, then again, Chuck has been wrong before...but I have also been right, but I have been wrong....gosh, Now I am flip flopping (does that mean I am a donkey or an elephant?)....regardless check those things out and see what you come up with!

Excellent luck dude and Party On!

Yep.

If the kick down cable is stuck, the car will think you are flooring it, and will keep it in the lower gears.

In the automatic, the OD usually won't kick in unless I have a light throttle, so a sticky kick down cable could be your problem.
