I moved my radio to the lower position and installed a guage cluster in it's place on my last car ('83 244). I had the large clock, small tach., oil preassure, volts and vacuum (not the turbo version).
On my current car ('87 245) I have the radio back in the top position as I seem to fiddle with it and I can see the road better when doing so in the upper position.
I get by with the large Tach., a volt meter and a vacuum guage. I use the clock in the radio.
If you are guage crazy, you can look on E-Bay and find a Rally Insrument Cluster and then add what it does not have to a guage cluster in the top radio slot. (oil temp., road temp., water preassure, etc.
