sunroof caulk is off....but 700 1989

Thanks for the tips towards removing the caulk around my sunroof, worked well.
so, once I had the sunroof unsealed I cranked it open. Then when I closed the sunroof I heard the unmistakable sound of the cloth liner ripping.
I now need to repair the cloth that lines the sunroof, and find what it is catching on.
Is there a way to tip the sun roof up rather than remove it? It seems to be seated well, and I hate to yank the whole thing out. Even following the advice in the faq there seems to be good reason to expect lots of work and a great potential for problems.
Any thoughts (other than - don't be so lazy)

Other than the advice in FAQ, I don't know of any other fix. If your sunroof headliner material is original (like mine is), they begin to sag and then upon opening/closing it drags over the headliner backer board, which tears the material. Poor design in my view......Volvo should have used Vinyl headliner material like my 240 has......
