my 78 240 won't let me out. door handles not working on the inside 200 1978

I've already taken the door panels off & added more support for that "wobbly" rod that operates the mechanism.
anything else I can do??

make sure your doors are lined up correctly with the body. Also check and see that the handle latch itself isnt slowly breaking. I have had a number of handles snap off where the castiron meets the handle body. Every time this has happened, the doors didnt operate properly before they totally broke and stopped working.
