Stock? tow assembly - I need an adaptor? 700

Hey folks! Been a long while since I have posted up here, the ol' 764Ti (now 283,000 on the odo!) has been wonderfully reliable, and I have had little to post about!

My question today is, I have an '85 764Ti with the stock (i believe) tow assembly. It is rectangular, instead of the american standard square. Can anyone point me to where I can get an adaptor, or assembly for a standard ball? I searched the archives, and could come up with nothing of use.

Thanks as always for your help,

-Elliott Freis

Seems like the only source would be a dealer.

Why not just go to a welding shop and have them make you a new drawbar?

Excuse my ignorance when it comes to tow equipment, the drawbar is the main piece that fits to the frame, or the piece that would come out of the current rectangular slot? I figured it would be less expensive to just get the assembly that holds the ball than to replace the whole carriage. Perhaps I am incorrect?

      Thanks!

      -Elliott

That Depends on if it says Volvo on it or not!! Maybe it would be wise to check the price of both a volvo rectangular attachment vs a whole new after market hitch and then decide.
