Unscrewed Exaust Manifold Stud? HELP 700

Hey Bricksters,

Today was the day that I was to tackle the exaust manifold gaskets. The stud nearest the ground came out with the bolt. Its screws back in about 1.5 inches is there a way to tighten this stud before I bolt the manifold back on, so I wont have to do this again anytime soon? Any info is appreicated!!!!

call the local snap-on man and get a stud insert and removal tool. these are very pricey but I love having access to the ease in case of need.

Thread 2 nuts on to the stud, and lock them together with 2 wrenches. Apply loc-tite to the stud, insert into head, and tighten with the outer nut. Now unlock the 2 nuts you used to tighten it, and remove. Be sure to use NEW all steel locknuts when you put the manifold back on or you will be doing it again.
