Please tell us how long the wiring and switch last and whether the switch fails or the wiring fails and whether there is a fire and if so what else burns and how hard it is to fix. How long you get away with what you have depends in part on how much you use the highs.

Also, please aim your lights properly. That is a lot of wattage for an oncoming driver to face.

I gave up on the stock wiring after the switch failed. I was running 80/100W H4s. Daniel Stern Lighting has a very good webpage on how to modify the wiring. Volvo enthusiast David Hueppchen at OJ Rallye sells Hella relays and is also good with lighting questions and sells external adjustable alternator regulator conversions. Dan Roth, a Turbobricks member, has made some very nice lighting harness upgrades. His looked better than mine and had better parts and he sells them for a reasonable price in light of what it costs to buy all the wire and terminals and relays and the hours that it takes to cut and measure and solder everything up.

Not for very long. You need to install headlight relays

Simple answer?
No.....
Never, may even start a fire....not something you want....i hope not anyway.
You'll have to upgrade the wiring with a new harness coming straight off the battery with a relay (or 2) driving it from the headlight switch. Trust me, the wiring will not handle the load...
