Flame Trap ? 200 1987

Hi Ya'll--

I want to purchase a replacement flame trap, just the inner piece, or the whole thing, since it's so cheap. Does anyone know of one of the Auto Parts chains that carrys this? Pep Boys did not, and I'm in the SC/NC area. I probably should go ahead and order it from IPD.

    It's basically adealer part. both pieces will run you under $5. Get both in case you break the small nipple off of the 'carrier. If you don't break it this time, you will next time.

    Yes IPD does have these too I don't know if you can justify the shipping with the cost.

    Jeff -- Volvo dealer or mail order. You should think about replacing the flame trap every year. If you order through the mail, why not get several at once -- they're dirt cheap; the big cost is the shipping charge, so get several year's worth at once.

    get from a dealer, look in the section on this board for local parts shops and call them or look in an issue of rolling to see if anyone in your area has it.

    one last bit of info, if you are in real need of one now (for fear of blowing seals) get some carb cleaner, pull the trap and soak everything (put all pieces in a bowl of some sort <> and let the oieces sit on a bath of this stuff for a few minutes)and clean as best you can with toothpick or toothbrush. this will help until you get one in hand.

      Try Megaparts.com they have a very extensive online catalog with pictures. You can find the flame trap and all the affiliated service parts you need. You can even choose the brand you like (OEM). Their prices are competitive too

        i couldn't find it. and i didn't see any pictures. they do have a hose i need though.

    You might as well order it from ipd unless you wuld just assume get it from a local dealer (if you have one). The flame trap is one of those dealer only parts you won't find in the aftermarket. (atleast as far as i know)
