Hi all!
Well, this weekend I finally got to check out my new 245 and begin some work on it. Wow, even though it has some cosmetic problems, I absolutely love it and admire that unique design of this Swedish brick. The first thing I did was clean the interior and bring back some life to the leather. When I finished the interior, I proceeded to clean out some body rusts (did a temporary job on them). Then I tightened the grill to it's fasteners with some nuts, washers, and screws. The next step was to cover up some bare wires and check the vital fluids (oil and tranny checked out good, but I'm still going to change them for peace of mind). Once I was done doing that, I sprayed some engine degreaser on the undercarriage and some on parts of the engine that I thought were safe to spray on (I really didn't clean the engine much with the degreaser--too unsure about doing that). Well, everything went well with those minor work until I decided to check out the tailgate wiper. I just installed a replacement blade, which did not latch on tightly with the arm. I didn't know that til I turned on the wiper and the blade fell off causing the metal tip of the wiper arm to scratch an arc on my window!!!!! I'm so mad at myself! It annoys me everytime I look at it. Yes, I know, the car came with many cosmetic glitches. But they somehow don't bother me that much, probably because this window scratch was caused by ME! Arghhh!
Anyhow, just needed to vent! And I also want to use this post to thank all who have helped me. Peter Cohen, yes, thanks for catching my math error! :P
