hi sages- ran into annie greensprings from woodstock while soaking up some coffee this weekend at drunken donuts. had a long chat about what junks a 240 other than a total out/smashup. hers is a red 90 245 wagon which resembles a volvo version of Christine the 58 Plymouth fury before arnie rebuilt it. tells me it has 300k. anyway we discussed one issue which I don't think has directly come up here on the board. what are the top 5 mechanical clusterf@!#ks which doom a 240. in no particular priority we came up with exploded air bag, dead automatic trans, rusted out floors, seized engine, blower motor dead. cited a number of causes, shyster dealers/mechanics, many replacement parts now made of unobtainium, junkyards have been cleaned out, etc. she wired in a truckers junkyard fan onto her dashtop to demist/defrost the windshield when a dealer tried to clip her $1000. to replace the dead blower motor. looks like hell but does work. curious how you would answer this my bruthas. thanks tons oldduke
