Hello Kindofhandy,
On my 940 I've replaced the front parking lights with warm white (6500K) LEDs just to conform with the white H4 LEDs headlights. In some aspects the white parking lights resemble DRLs on current cars if I let it on all the time. I've also replaced the rear brake lights (plus 3rd brake light) with LEDs for their instant turn-on response to warn the rear traffic. In my case the bulb failure indicator didn't light up. The bulb failure circuit depends on current balance between right and left braking circuits. I was careful in using the same type/make LED bulb for the brake lights and I ordered more bulbs than needed in case of some inherent electrical imperfection within the same make. It turned out to be all ok.
I'd like to replace the amber turn signals to LEDs too if not for anecdotes telling its not compatible with old turn signal relay circuit which relied on the high wattage of incandescent bulbs for on/off switching.
Amarin.
