The intermittent wiper relay engages when the front wiper stalk or, on wagon, the rear liftgate wiper switch, is set to intermittent wipe. On low or high speed wipe, the intermittent wiper relay does not comprise the activated circuit. From the switch to the wiper motor.
In prior posts by our Uncle Art, issues with not being able to park were in a set of contacts in the wiper motor gear box. Also, there could be issue with fraying wire connections that bend with each wiper stalk actuation. Or the copper contacts in the wiper stalk.
Yet the 940 wire harness is much more complicated than 240. So, I'm unsure. Yet Spook is more certain in finding the root cause and remediation.
So, here is Uncle Art's cleanflametrap article about 240 wiper issues with the motor. There exist many threads on the issue one can find with the search feature here. Maybe corrosion at a bonded contact like the
