Yes people get burned at public forums. Just doing your part in replying sensibly is good enough. And if root cause analysis (RCA) need to be done then do it but still sticking to providing sensible answer. Myself on the other hand find RCAs too time consuming plus if ever any changes need to be done to the root design of any failing part there would be another weakness issue cropping up to mess-up with you later. All I could gather in the end is that these are akin to engineers' "game" though I don't really blame them for these. And the word "game" unlike real game where there are evident winners and losers. Designing is just an intelectual excercise. They had to design a working item with a finite lifetime with available resources. And engineers get paid for it. Do we get paid doing any RCA? I think the answer is evident. Curiosity gets us working on RCA. Did we ever realise that for the engineers its just a job to feed their families? Newer parts with updated design should work better and longer but still you can't ignore the system. As long as we're using Otto engines we are limited to the systemic issues inherent to its design. And we can't really complain about that, could we? When the system changes, like an electric car for example, we don't have to deal with fuel pump anymore. A simple answer? Yes its as simple as that. Life could be complicated if we made it be so.
And not forgetting the car is just an invention like every other GREAT inventions in the world. Its the satisfaction in helping others that matters. And I agree Art and other GREAT posters have been doing more than their part in helping. Offer what you could and go on living life. Forum is about 1% (if I may put a value to it) of life and still a virtual reality. You shouldn't been spending time more than you should.
