I've found that the 960 tranny is a bit busy with its shifts to begin with. Your tranny flush method is one of a few valid ways to get the job done. 6 qts of drain and fill is a great place to start. Maybe do the same at your next oil change or two, depending on the color of the fluid.

Every car sold in the US since 1996 has been equipped with OBD2. You'll need a code reader (or a trip to your local autoparts chain store, Autozone, etc.) to read them.

I presume that the missing/no power problem started right after you had the intake components apart for replacement and cleaning. It could be due to water in some connector but I suggest (along with checking codes) going back in to check all those connections to the intake, the vacuum hoses, the electrical connections, etc. A missed or not-quite-seated connection to the intake will introduce unmetered air to the engine and really confuse the computers. Could be an easy fix.

Perhaps there's some information in the 700/900 FAQ on fixing the sagging rear end?
