1997 V90, rear shocks??? S90-V90 1997

I need rear shocks for my '97 V90. All local suppliers show shocks for post 5/97 at about 1/2 the price of shocks for cars pre 5/97. Worse, local suppliers do not think they can obtain the shocks for pre 5/97. The date of my car is 1/97. Is there any significant difference in the shocks, can I use shocks for a car built after 5/97?

1997 V90, rear shocks??? S90-V90 1997

Somewhere on the Net, I found that Monroe 5979 would fit. Couldn't find them. I called Monroe and they told me that they were out of production and that they made no compatible shock. I gave up on Volvo V90 and searched Monroe 5979. I found them from a internet supplier, who was down to two, so I took them. I found other suppliers at more money, most say they have two left. Amazon lists them, as does Walmart. eBay also has several for sale. Good luck.

1997 V90, rear shocks??? You have Nivomat Self-Leveling or No? S90-V90 1997

You have Nivomat Self-Leveling or No?

If no iPd has:

https://www.ipdusa.com/products/8510/115021-rear-shock-960-s90-v90

Or, much better, at FCP Euro, you have four options:

https://www.fcpeuro.com/Volvo-parts/V90/Shocks?year=1997&e=155&m=20&page=1

(FCP Euro, for now, uses the URL and unlike iPd, stupid cookies.)

One FCP V90 rear damper entry is:

https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo-rear-shock-absorber-nivomat-960-v90-not-marked-v

So, not marked "V". May wanna ask FCP Euro.

With the part number you can shop around for the Made in Germany Sachs like at AutoZone and other locales like maybe Rock Auto?

The 700-900-90 FAQ has some help for you, also:

https://www.brickboard.com/FAQ/700-900/RearSuspension.htm

Hope that helps.

Poor Nephew MacDuffed. Maybe Poor Yorick very soon.
