bmwjohn - Boge was factory OEM on most Volvo's through MY 2000. Maybe longer, but I don't know beyond MY 2000. No question, the Boge Turbo gas received many rave reviews here until Sachs started making them in place of Boge. Never have used Sachs myself on a 240 but apparently Sachs aren't nearly as good....

FWIW - 6 years ago I put Sachs Advantage struts on my 95 855 GLT. Along with Volvo OEM strut mounts. Not a performance strut but still dampening okay with 250K+ on the car although I just checked them and the driver's side is getting a little bouncy. No leaks or noise though.

Greetings KGV - The strut mounts are still good! At least Volvo OEM strut mounts on 850's were still decent quality in 2011!
