turn signal wiring colors 200 1990

happy new year everyone. after replacing 2 blower motor this week, taking the dash out of both, I have ran into a small problem the left signal will not work on the last one. does anyone know the colors or has the wiring diagram for that side? it's probably a cross wire but I need to know which ones to look for, color and all that, maybe where they connect. cars where 89 and 90 240's. bless you Art for the website and thanks everyone for the help.

good news problem founded, green wire on stalk was disconnect from spade, thanks kitty, Drew for location of diagram. only have to button things up and continue to next problem taillights on 89. I have come to the conclusion that the contacts to the board are shot and have read there is a way to solder wires to the board. anyone know anything about that??? thanks again for all the help. HAIL VOLVO.

Glad you got it fixed. It's the little things that can drive you nuts sometimes.

Re: hardwiring tail lights, the K-jet guy has instructions: http://www.k-jet.org/articles/projects/hard-wiring-tail-lights/

I've not tried this but don't see why it wouldn't work.

I ran into something like this in my 91 two days ago. Finished up the blower motor replacement and took it for its triumphant test drive, only to have no turn signals but working hazards. In my case, I didn't correctly seat the plug on the hazard switch. The bottom pin on the connector was somewhat deformed and I had to open it up a little with a pick and reinstall it, making sure the wire seated on the switch pin. Did you entirely dismount the turn signal stalk? If you didn't touch its wiring based on my recent experience you may want to doublecheck the hazard switch. On my car it looked correctly installed but that one crimp was clearly protruding out beyond the back of the molded plastic plug, so it wasn't making contact (or at least enough to turn the lights on.) Perhaps a different pin is loose in your plug, allowing just the right side to come on?

Art's pictures were invaluable in my work too. Now, oddly, I sometimes get a little rattle from the blower when making slow left turns but I don't care enough to take it back apart since this is just my weekend hobby car.

        Hi popdaddy,

Happy New Year. Thanks to Uncle Art always!

You can find a collection for (usually) North American market wiring diagrams a other info here:
        http://www.volvowiringdiagrams.com/?dir=

        Specifically:
        http://www.volvowiringdiagrams.com/?dir=volvo/240%20Wiring%20Diagrams

        On the 1989 240 PDF see PDF page 20 of 20. Grid 11 - A to 11 - B or so.

        On the 1990 240 PDF see PDF page 19 of 20. Grid 11 - A to 11 - B or so.

There does appear wiring variation by color and count between 1989 and 1990. Maybe a different presentation of the same connection, I'll guess, it appears at first glance? I'm unsure. The turn signal wire colors seem the same from model years sometime ago.

Art or someone could show you the actual Volvo wiring diagrams.

Perhaps here for these? Another resource:
        http://www.k-jet.org/documents/greenbooks/200-series/

        Hope this helps.
