New Problem with Rear Wagon Plugged Nozzle?

Car is running great small things like the plugged rear wagon W/W nozzle have me scratching my head now.

Both pumps were frozen but disassembly and cleaning solved that, front nozzles are fine but the rear one is plugged. I can't blow through the hose and can't figure out how the nozzle comes off the car.

I'm sure someone else has.
Thanks
Dan

New Problem with Rear Wagon Plugged Nozzle?

There should be a check valve ( or two ) and a filter in the engine compartment, or all the fluid will run back between uses,

I think the check valve is red and black, and contains a small spring and a thin rubber flap.

I have seen the flap tear or turn to gunk if the cleaner eats it up.

The valve just snaps apart ( don't lose the spring! )

A small disc cut from a dish washing glove collar serves well for years - your wife won't even miss this small piece.

Have you read the FAQ?

New Problem with Rear Wagon Plugged Nozzle?

This is a 240 wagon, went to look for the tubing and check valve and couldn't find it. Is the tubing routed over the windows?

Thanks
Dan

New Problem with Rear Wagon Plugged Nozzle?

On my '87 it comes up the right side to the nozzle. There is a check valve in the line. If I remember right, I removed the check valve, stuck a tiny wire in the nozzle, and blew it out with some air.

The nozzle is removed by compressing ( or breaking off ) the two mounting clips inside the car.

New Problem with Rear Wagon Plugged Nozzle?

Thanks Greg this is a 92, I can see where the tubing goes into the right rear post near the top but can not see the tubing come down the post, so at this point I think it goes forward across the top of the rear window.

I can not see the nozzle from the inside of the rear hatch frame. I guess the only way to get it off is to destroy it and I don't want to do that without a replacement and a last resort.

Thanks
Dan

Dan. A new nozzle is $10.41 at Tasca: http://tascaparts.com/parts/index.cfm?searchText=1369855&make=Volvo&action=oePartSearch&siteid=213668. In my experience the hose runs through under the side window and the check valve is there. Mike T.
