Manifold to Cat pipe 700 1992

Now that I successfully replaced the exhaust manifold gaskets(many thanks ro help from the brickboard), I hear a leak in the next pipe, on the way to the CAT.
I will inspect more tomorrow, in the daylight. When I saw the price on FCP Groton, I got "sticker shock".

Any advice on this job?

Is this for a 92 740 turbo with the B230FT engine?

If so, I have a freshly removed one from my diesel conversion laying in my back yard, destined to go to the junk yard. If we can figure on a way to get it from SC to FL, you can have it for $5. I may have to fight it loose from the catastrophic converter. Send me a PM.

Yes, that pipe is very expensive. I have had them welded for less than the cost of a new one.
If it has cracked it is most likely because you are missing the support bracket. It attaches from the bell housing to the point where the pipe splits. There are some tapped holes in a plate there (if it hasn't rusted off). If it has, you can make a bracket from an L shelf bracket and a large (very large) exhaust clamp.
