R12 systems that have been converted to 134a MUST use ONLY ester oil. PAG oil is ONLY for systems that were 134a from day one. If PAG oil is introduced into a converted R12 system, major damage will occur, very quickly. Be extremely suspicious of products that claim to give faster cooling, colder air, etc. They are a blend of various additives, and often contain PAG oil. Read the label thoroughly, and be sure to use only the correct type of oil. When in doubt, leave it out.
Your best plan at this point would be to get a can of straight 134a (with no oil or any other additives) and a charging hose with a gauge. Follow the directions, and see if that gets it working again, then check for leaks.
