It's summer... time to fix my AC system! 700 1987

Hi Ari,

I just changed the compressor and dryer/accumulator on my ’92 B230F wagon and then took it to a shop to have them completely evacuate the system and charge it.

Changing the compressor wasn’t too bad. The location makes it a little difficult when reinstalling the refrigerant lines, but it’s doable and doesn’t require any special tools. Make sure and change the dryer/accumulator at the same time (it’s inexpensive and easy). Also, find out where the orifice is located on your car. It may be inline with the refrigerant line near the dryer/accumulator. You should replace it.

I would also suggest that you make notes and drawings (especially of the location/position of the brackets) prior to removal.

Good Luck!
