You can clean it with brake cleaner if there's liquid in there.

It's not unusual, even on fairly healthy engines, to see a lot of oil in the intake. Most people never clean it out.

The important thing is, you fixed the problem and cleaned the flame trap and throttle body. The rest will take care of itself.
