Is this not the same arrangement used on all B20 and B30 engines?
If so, the pivot bolt is 1/2"-20 UNF and the boss is plenty sturdy even
with a spacer between it and the alternator. I had the same thing on the
engine from a 68 142 (B18) that I bought in Panama. It was JUST LIKE
a B20 on the outside but had the 3 5/16" bore and a pretty standard B18
head. It had never been disassembled till I got it.
I don't think there is anything to worry about here. Looks like a stock
installation (except for the flatwashers under the bolthead) to me.
