What do we think of 1998 V70s compared to 240s?

I have two 1998 V70s. One is an AWD model that we bought 14 years ago when it had 55K miles, and the other is a base model we bought 5 years ago for our children to drive around when it had 199K miles. The first now has 210K miles, and the second has 230K. I cannot compare them to a 240, as I never owned one, but I did own a '92 740T wagon for about seven years (crashed it), and I can say that I prefer the V70. In fact, the one that I have had for 14.5 years is the best car I have ever owned. Comfortable, solid, a beast in snow, I am hoping to keep it going for several more years.

The craigslist ad you mention seems a bit high. Also, there is no mention of how many miles are on the car. I bought the newer to us, with 199K miles in 2014 for $1500. I have put about that much into it since then, and it should last as long as I want it to. Good luck
