The Westboro Baptist Church sent a news release dated Saturday to the News-Leader that said “Thank God for sending more killer whirlwinds” to Missouri. The group said it will picket funerals of “those killed today, with a gospel message for Missouri’s living.”
The small church believes disasters and tragedies are God’s way of punishing the country for tolerating homosexuality. The group earlier announced plans to picket in Columbia, Missouri May 14 because of support for domestic partnerships. The same day the church says it will be protesting at the Jewish Community Center in St. Louis and the Jewish Federation in St. Louis, as well as the Elton John/Billy Joel Concert.
There's a religion of peace for ya.
And then a bit from our Lt. Col Peters
…The age-old lesson of religion-fueled rebellions is that they must be put down with unsparing bloodshed—the fanatic’s god is not interested in compromise solutions. The leading rebels or terrorists must be killed. We, on the contrary, want to make them our friends.
My best advice to anyone who wants to raise a happy, mentally healthy child is: Keep him or her as far away from a church as you can.
