Outlined in red is back edge of the inner cowl cover. This I reattached at the back edge with some of the 3M WindowWeld. (The front edge has a groove which slides in easily.)
The bracket which holds the cowl itself, and the brace for the windshield, are both circled in red. They have nothing to do with the inner cowl cover. |

Just in front of the bolt holding the cowl in at the rear of each fender, there is a rubber bumper for the hood which pegs into the fender laterally (not vertically).
As it happens, one of those bumpers fell off in my hand and it gave me plenty of room for the fore/aft finagling of the cowl to get the guide over the pin. |
