Aside from emissions, is there any other detrimental effects. Performance would surely perk up. I know cause I've tried both cars. They're practically identical except for the upgraded engine management system. The 96 T5 feels alot more solid in the shifting department and also the transmission does not seem to slip as much. I could be humming along at 40-50kph and suddenly gun the throttle and when it shifts down you could hear the tires screach.
