ECU compatibility V70-XC70

Hi all,

Was told by local dealer that 1996 850 T5 A/T ECU will work in a 1998 V70 T5 A/T. They've tried it and the difference is that shifting is much better and rear O2 sensor is not needed anymore. Anyone want to comment on this? Thanks in advance.
