2001 volvo s40 heating blower problem

hi,
have had problems simaler to this where the heater fan power stage unit was faulty causing the fan not to work. if this is case then often there will be a climate control dtc posted.
power stage is easy to remove and replace,its located next to fan under dash.
steve.
