To buy or not to buy, 2004 XC70 V70-XC70

HELP! I have just looked at a 2004 XC70 and thinking of buying. I would be going from a 2002 Avalon XLS with outstanding realibility to the XC70.
To help me in my decision I would like to first know the real gas mileage I can expect on this car compared to the EPA posted mileage. Also would like to know of any one encountered any problems with this model, for those of you who now have a few miles on your XC70.
