hi,
do the sensor first as the two problems could very well be related and its an easy thing to replace. just beacuse the problems existed before the cel came on does not mean that there was no problem with the sensor prior to that,the light only comes on when certain problems become bad enough but they still can post a dtc code without the cel on.
plus a faulty ect sensor could make the car run excessively rich causing your problems.
