850 warm start problem 850

I'm baaaaack! Had this problem a while back (6 mo or more I think) and the relay under the cowling fixed it. A new relay this time didn't so I've been reading for about three hours and wonder if it could be the Coolant temp sensor this time. A quick review of the symptoms for first time readers; I run the car till hot, turn it off then try to restart and it acts like it's flooded. wait about an hour and it starts and runs fine, maybe for days. I've read where it might be a bad engine ground, so I'll start by tightening/cleaning those. But there is one more symtom which may be important. This car (96 850 turbo wagon) has always had a high rev for a few seconds on startup. Lately, it has gotton worse...higher and longer. If the coolant temp sensor was bad, i.e. telling the computer the car was cold when it was hot, would it not give the engine more gas than was needed and flood the thing? Then after the flooding had evaporated it would start fine? Also if this coolant temp sensor was bad would it not give a higher rev on startup by giving too much gas, but not enough to flood since the engine was not hot yet? Just thinking outloud here...
I have read where the high rev could be the oil filler cap gasket or maybe the mass air flow sensor not working right because the flap in the air filter box is sticking or the air filter itself might not be seating properly...dunno, will check that also.
I know there is another relay under the cover by the fuse box. I have not replaced that one. I believe the fuel pump is ok because when it runs, it runs fine. Loooking for any advice on this one. I know I will probably replce things I don't need to, heck I already have..the $40 relay under the cowling. I just hope I can get out before replacing the whole fuel system!! Thanks in advance for any help!
