Engine management light V70-XC70

Hi Guy’s

This is my first, until now I have just been looking.

I have a 1999 model UK spec V70R with 86K on the clock.
Recently the engine management light has been coming on at 70- 100 mile intervals then going off for 70-100 miles etc, an on off cycle.

Took the car to my local dealer who put it on the computer, message came up fault with 3way converter (I did not get the fault code) and to check for an air leak.

He said that he does not think that the converter is faulty and had a quick look for an air leak, did not find any thing. However there is a buzzing / hissing sound coming from the engine bay.

Said he would have the car for some more tests. The car runs fine in all areas, any ideas or suggestions
