This was discussed on the B.B.years ago and I was laughed off the internet for suggesting the same thing. I am a sound engineer that has worked with many R.F. microphones and yes, the bone under your chin acts as an antenna.
Simply put, it works. Any anyone who wants to challange the suggestion, try it yourself.
