Software Upgrade for '98 T5...due to rough idling S70

Howdy all!
My T5 seems to skip a beat or hicup at idle or when i slighly depress the gas when moving. Read on the forum b4 that a single software upgrade is needed. My dealership agreed, but came back and told me that it is not availble for my year T5. It this BS?
