Do I need 2 new Tires V70-XC70 2000

Teenage son decides he can drive V70 into curb. Why-because he is a teenager. Do I need to say more?

Front right tire protests and blows out sidewall.

8000 miles on all tirss, rotated at 5k. Do I need 2 tires, or can I get away with one, since relatively low mileage? These are Dunlop Sport A2's. If I buy just one, my plan will be to put on rear, and run 10-15K before rotating again.
