I've been very happy with my used 94 850 with over 200K miles on it - but like other people have said Volvo owners are very picky and tend to "dabble" - we are more likely to KNOW something is wrong with our car and agonize about it and discuss it where other car owners would be oblivious. My car has never broken down, and although I've replaced some things you'd expect to need after 200K miles, it runs great and looks great.

My previous car, an 87 740 turbo, was also awesome - but was totalled by a drunk driver about a year and a half ago. In that accident, my fiance and i didn't even feel an impact and were completely uninjured - and that means a lot to me! The towtruck driver said if we'd been in another car we may have been badly injured.

If you're going to get out of Volvos, maybe consider Subaru - a friend of mine has one (since new) and loves it. They make nice wagons and are expensive but reliable.
